DONOR SUPPORT PROGRAM

Support for older people is becoming an increasing priority issue in the developing world and this will only continue as the proportion of older people increases in the future. Globally, the number of persons aged 60 and above is expected to more than double by 2015 and more than triple by 2100 (3.2 billion). Sixty-six percent (66%) of the increase will occur in Asia, 13% in Africa and 11% in Latin America and the Caribbean.

With this demographic shift new and emerging NGO’s are engaging with the IFA and others, with many seeking greater access to information, knowledge, capacity building partnerships and direct support for older people in their own countries. To assist building capacity partnerships, the provision of information, access to education and learning experiences through forums such as conferences and membership support, the IFA has 3 specific donor support initiatives where your contribution can make a significant difference:

Sponsorship Opportunities Purpose
1. Developing Country Associate Membership Provides annual membership to the IFA network
2. Conference Bursary program Supports delegates with travel, accommodation and registration to conferences.
3. Building Capacity Grants Provides small grants to developing country NGO’s to build capacity.

You can make payment to any of these Donor Support Program initiatives through the IFA payment portal below or by completing the downloadable payment form and returning it to Mr. Greg Shaw by email at gshaw@ifa.ngo or by facsimile to +1 416-392-4157.  Please note that amounts represented are the costs per bursary, however you may choose to pay as little as $20.00 towards any or all programs.

Important Note: Donors from the United States are able to make tax-deductible donations to the IFA through the International Gift Matching Program at Tides Canada.
