Work & Learning Opportunities

Build practical experience through student placements.

Student Placements

The Student Placement Program at IFA is open to graduate-level students working in associated areas in the field of population ageing and older persons for a period between three months to one year. It is ideal for students seeking to gain practical experiences as part of an accredited program.

IFA provides a supportive and respectful learning environment for students as they gain professional experience in an NGO setting.  Effort is made to ensure placement students are exposed to different aspects of the organization and that assigned projects provide hands-on, meaningful opportunities to contribute to the IFAs work.

The scope of the placement is directly related to the successful applicant’s experience and interests. Activities may include environmental scans, information analysis, knowledge mobilization and communications, multimedia projects, support writing internal and external reports, and administrative responsibilities.

Application Process

Placements are accepted on a rolling basis. Interested applicants are invited to submit a cover letter with expression of interest, resume or curriculum vitae, and a writing sample to hr@ifa.ngo.

Information regarding available placements, including eligibility criteria and application procedures, will be posted on this page when opportunities arise.
