Global Conference

For over 50 years, the IFA Global Conference on Ageing has brought together leaders from across sectors and regions to shape policy, share innovation and strengthen collaboration on ageing.

From global policy milestones to cross-sector dialogues, the conference has evolved alongside the world’s response to population ageing – helping to advance healthier, more inclusive societies.

Highlights from IFA’s 17th Global Conference on Ageing in Cape Town, South Africa

In September 2025, over 500 leaders from 63 countries came together in Cape Town. Across high-level side events, plenary discussions, roundtables and paper presentations, policymakers, researchers, practitioners and advocates advanced solutions across health, care systems, technology, rights, and age-friendly environments, catalyzing and reinforcing global collaboration and action.

Looking Ahead to November, 2027

The 18th IFA Global Conference on Ageing is expected to take place in Hong Kong, in partnership with the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS).

Building on the momentum of previous conferences, #IFACONF2027 will convene policymakers, researchers, practitioners and leaders from around the world to explore the most pressing issues shaping ageing societies, from health and care systems to technology, environments and economies.

The conference will be held alongside the Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES), Asia’s leading platform on ageing and innovation, offering a unique opportunity to connect global dialogue with cutting-edge solutions and regional leadership.

More details will be announced soon.
