Pain Management in Later Life: Aligning Evidence, Policy, and Action.June 11 2026, Brussels Belgium
In June 2026, the International Federation on Ageing (IFA) convened the expert meeting, Pain Management in Later Life: Aligning Evidence, Policy, and Action, bringing together experts from health, care, policy, academia, civil society, and related sectors to examine the implications of pain management in the context of population ageing.
Discussions explored shared challenges, opportunities for collaboration, and priorities to strengthen policy and practice, recognizing pain management as an integral component of healthy ageing and longevity. Participants identified five priority action areas: fragmented care, workforce capacity and education, access, equity and age-disaggregated data, and prevention across the life course.
