4 December 2019
Lyon, France – The International Federation on Ageing (IFA) is delighted to announce that Dr. Jane Barratt, IFA Secretary General, will be welcoming distinguished delegates to deliberate perspectives on vaccination in France during 9-10 December 2019 at the Marriott Cité Internationale Hotel in Lyon, France.
The IFA strives to strengthen the roles and relationships between government, NGOs, academia and industry in order to help shape and influence policy to improve the quality of life of older people. This expert meeting will bring together experts in immunization, gerontology and clinical care, as well as representatives of patient advocacy organizations to deliberate the issue of vaccination in France in an open forum. The aim of this event is to reconcile perspectives from important stakeholder groups in the current vaccination discourse and identify challenges and opportunities for improving participation in vaccination campaigns.
Speakers from patient organisations will highlight the impact of chronic diseases such as heart disease and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) on vaccination participation rates of older people, and health professionals including pharmacists will discuss strategies and tactics that have contributed to the success of recent pharmacist vaccination pilot projects.
This unique bilingual forum is an opportunity for interdisciplinary collaboration towards achieving better vaccination uptake rates of older people in France, and ultimately promote healthy ageing.
