Tu-Anh Hoang
Ms. Hoang Tu Anh graduated as a general practitioner from Hanoi Medical University 1987 – 1993, Master of Health System Management, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London 1998 – 2000 and is a PhD student. in Anthropology, University of Amsterdam, Netherlands since 2012.
Doctor Hoang Tu Anh is a member of the Founding Council and the first CEO of the Center for Initiatives in Health and Population (CCIHP). She is currently Deputy Director of the Center. She participates in training, research, and implementation of intervention programs on gender, sexuality and HIV and has many years of experience working with minority groups such as adolescents, young people, and people overcoming gender-based violence. , people living with HIV, people with disabilities and sexual minorities based on a rights-based approach and meaningful community participation. Her efforts have contributed greatly to the advocacy activities of CCIHP in particular and of civil society in general in policies on gender equality and reproductive health rights in Vietnam.
Ms. Tu Anh is the former president of the Sexual Rights Alliance, member of the executive board of the Vietnam Gender Violence Prevention Network (GBVNET), member of the SouthEast Asia Consortium on Gender, Sexuality and Health, member of the executive board. Asia-Pacific Research and Resource Center for Women (ARROW) and IDAHO advisory board member.
Currently, she focuses on research and promoting programs on civil society movements and gender-based violence using theories of heteronormativity, symbolic violence and surveillance.
