Webinar Series on Older LGBTQ2 People: Ageism and Age-Based Discrimination in LGBTQ2 Communities

“Ageism and Age-Based Discrimination in LGBTQ2 Communities” was the latest webinar in a series created to address the inequalities of older LGBTQ2 people around the world.

The webinar “Ageism and Age-Based Discrimination in LGBTQ2 Communities” was moderated by Dr Jane Barratt, Secretary General of the International Federation on Ageing (IFA) and presented by Dr Brian de Vries (Professor, Emeritus, San Francisco State University and Adjunct Professor, Simon Fraser University) and Mx Kate Hazell (Specialist, Education and Training, Coordinator, The 519). The aim of the webinar was to discuss experiences of ageism and age-based discrimination within LGBTQ2 communities, as well as initiatives and programming that can be used to combat ageism and age-based discrimination.

The IFA appreciates the participation of all those interested and working towards improving the health and well-being of older LGBTQ2 people around the world. The next webinar in this series will occur in March 2018, with more details coming soon.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact Ms Hannah Girdler.
