Our Areas of Work

Our Areas of Work

Human Rights & Dignity promotes the rights, dignity, and inclusion of older people by challenging ageism, advancing strong legal and social protections, and supporting person-centred, rights-based approaches so people can age with respect, choice, and participation.

Financing & Longevity Economy explores how ageing populations are reshaping work, income security, and financial systems. The IFA collaborates with partners to advance longevity-ready financing, investment, and economic solutions that support workforce participation, innovation, and wellbeing across the life course.
Climate Resilience & Ageing focuses on addressing how climate change impacts older people and the systems that support them. The IFA promotes inclusive climate adaptation and preparedness that strengthens health, care, and community resilience while protecting dignity, safety, and wellbeing across the life course.
Age-friendly environments shape how people live, move, and participate in their communities. The IFA influences policy, planning, and global agendas by embedding ageing within urban development, housing, transport, and social systems to support inclusion, independence, and dignity across the life course.
Digital technologies are reshaping the experience of ageing, creating both opportunities and barriers. The IFA helps shape policy, dialogue, and cross-sector collaboration to ensure digital transformation is inclusive, equitable, and rights-based, supporting meaningful participation and wellbeing in later life.
Healthy ageing depends on integrated, person-centred health and care systems that reflect the realities of later life. The IFA helps shape policy, dialogue, and collaboration across key areas such as prevention, chronic conditions, sensory and cognitive health, long-term care, and wellbeing to support equitable access, functional ability, independence, and dignity as people age.
