IFA 10th Global Conference on Ageing

The IFA 10th Global Conference on Ageing, “Climate For Change: Ageing into the Future” took place in Melbourne, Australia from 3-6 May, 2010 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. The conference served as a platform for researchers, practitioners, decision makers, and the private sector working in the field of ageing to think about the priorities of active and healthy ageing.   A vital outcome of the conference was that it placed great focus on emphasizing the linkages between the environment and ageing, discussing in particular how ageing intersects with the pressing problem of global climate change and temperature increases.  Central themes of this conference were: social consequence and engagement; demographic opportunities and challenges; and inclusive leadership and politics.
