IFA Oral Statement at the 14th Session of the UN Open-Ended Working Group on Ageing
20 May 2024
UN Representative Frances Zainoeddin delivered IFA’s statement at the 14th Session of the United Nations Open-Ended Working Group on Ageing (OEWGA) on 20 May 2024. Addressing UN Member States, Ms. Zainoeddin identified that after thirteen years of discussion over 900 documents have been submitted to the Working Group demonstrating that there are gaps in the international framework of the human rights of older persons. The IFA calls upon Member States to respond to these gaps with an international legally binding instrument to protect the human rights of older persons.
