Mabel Bianco is the President and founder of FEIM, an NGO working to improve women’s rights since 1989. MD MPH and specialist in Epidemiology and Medical Statics. Co-coordinator of Women Won’t Wait, a global campaign to eliminate VAW and HIV and Member of the Latin American and the Caribbean Women Health Network (1991- 1999). She attended the 1985 World Conference on Women in Nairobi, the Río Conference in 1992, Cairo Conference in 1994 and Beijing Conference in 1995 and did their follow-up. In 2000/2001 she was Chief of the HIV/AIDS National Program and Coordinator of WB Project. Member of UNAIDS Reference Group on HIV and HR (2002-2011). She was Member of Civil Society Regional Advisory Committee UNWOMEN till 2016.
Since 2012, She is founder and Co-Chair of the NGO CSW LAC and member of WMG since 2014. Since 2018 she has been the head of the Argentine delegation of the W20 and since 2022 she is an Advisor of the W7. Since the creation of the FFP group coordinated by Lyric Thompson, which brings together governments, NGOs, feminists, academics, and multilateral and bilateral agencies, Mabel Bianco has been an active participant and member of the steering committee of the Feminist Foreign Policy Collaborative. In 2023 she was appointed as Member of the Civil Society Committee of the World Health Organization (WHO) and in 2024 she was elected member of the Civil Society Steering Committee of ACTUEMOS (UN Women and European Union). She is also currently a Gender Advocate for Diario Perfil.
In 2011 she was elected One of the 100 People Committed to Women by Women Deliver and then one of the 150 Women Who Move the World by Newsweek. Recognized as a “Woman of Distinction” by the NGO Committee for CSW New York in 2017, and named one of the 100 most influential women by BBC in 2019 and by Apolitical in 2020. In 2026, she was named Chevalier dans l’Ordre National d’Honneur by the President of the French Republic. She is the author of 9 books and over 200 articles.
